Education

We are especially proud of our fourth year Subinternship that provides preparation for those planning a Pediatric Residency training. Our current Medical School affiliation is with Central Michigan University. We also train students from schools such as, Meharry Medical College, Michigan State University College of Medicine and Wayne State University School of Medicine.
At any given time there are more than 240 resident physicians, specialty fellows and medical students training at our hospital.

Our residency program graduates approximately 70 residents and fellows annually and is the largest pediatric training program in Michigan. In fact, about half of all graduating residents at Children’s Hospital remain in Michigan to receive additional specialty training or to enter academic positions or community practice, fueling the state’s pediatric physician workforce. Many of our graduates assume additional specialty training opportunities at prestigious medic centers throughout the nation and or elect to practice in locations across the country.
