Dr. Carla R. Watson is an Assistant Professor at Central Michigan University College of Medicine and serves as an Attending Pediatric Neurologist at the Children’s Hospital of Michigan. She completed her medical education at Wayne State University and has been a dedicated clinician and educator since joining the faculty in 2018. Dr. Watson provides comprehensive care for children with a wide range of neurological disorders, with a strong commitment to patient-centered, evidence-based practice. Dr. Watson serves as Director of the Pediatric Neurology Residency Program, where she leads curriculum development, resident education, and mentorship of future pediatric neurologists. She also directs the Functional Neurological Disorders Clinic, providing specialized, multidisciplinary care for children with functional neurologic symptoms. In addition to her leadership roles, she is actively involved in continuing medical education and frequently delivers lectures at institutional, community, and media platforms. Her contributions to clinical care and education have been recognized with multiple honors, including the “Best Child Neurology Attending Physician” award. Her work reflects a strong dedication to advancing pediatric neurology care while fostering the development of the next generation of physicians.
